Just for fun

In addition to all of the sewing I have been doing for Two Little Monkeys, I have also done a few cute little things for fun.

First is a diaper cake I made for my friend Laura, who's shower I hosted here in April. She is having a little boy, Preston Thomas, due at the end of June. I can't wait to hold that little sweetie!

Second is one of the moses baskets the boys used as newborns. They were cute as can be before, but my sister wanted to use it for her little girl. So, I made a new bumper and pad for the inside and now it perfect for little Piper. And, as requested from Paige, not pink!

So, since I know you have been dying to know, that is what I have been doing with my free time when I am not making clothes!

Bye Bye April, Hello May

I can hardly believe it is already May! Traveling back and forth to Columbia almost every weekend in April made the month fly by. Whew, we are exhausted, but glad to be home now and we plan to stay put for awhile. At least until the end of the month!

This weekend was so special as we celebrated the life of Gene's grandfather. We had a beautiful service and it was wonderful to see how many people have been touched by his life.

Although we have been busy, we are still having fun with the boys. How could we not, they are such a reminder of the blessing of life as they run around laughing and playing even in the midst of a sad time.

We decided it was finally time to turn the boys' seats around in the car. So, now they are big boys and love riding facing forward.

I think Ben is irritated that I interrupted his reading to take a picture.
McLean, however, was happy to make a silly face for the camera!

The boys missed several naps this weekend, so there were times when they were so tired they would actually let you hold them. I am glad we captured this on film!

One of the boys' favorite things to do at my parents house is swing. I am so glad they have a nice big swing set there for them, they love it! I know what our first purchase will be when we move!
We love to take the boys to get ice cream at Brusters, they get a free cone and Mommy and Daddy get a treat too! We usually scoop the ice cream out of the cone and then throw the cones away, or Gene eats them. This time, once they ate the ice cream first, we let them eat the cones too. They had a blast and of course McLean tried to eat his in about 3 bites.

It's about time...

As a long time Lilly lover, I have been very disappointed that they do not make anything for little boys. I always knew that when I had a little girl that we would dress in our matching Lilly and be oh-so-cute. But, since I only have boys, I thought I would just have to wait for the matching cuteness. But, to my great surprise my inbox had an email from Lilly with the new designs which included this :

And this for me:

Fabulous!

Stuck!

Every once and awhile when I am not in the boys playroom with them, I will hear a thud and a little crying. So I race upstairs only to find one of them has fallen into the toy box and cannot get themselves out. Every time I have gone up there it has been Ben who has fallen in there, but yesterday morning Gene went in there to find McLean stuck. Although, he was not crying at all; he seemed perfectly happy to play in his toy box.

Here is one of Ben from awhile ago when he got stuck head first. He was not happy!

Easter

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day. My parents joined us for a wonderful worship service and then lunch at Mary's, delicious! We were able to get a few pictures before we had to head home so the boys and I could take a nap :)

Easter Eggs

Yesterday afternoon we took the boys outside in my parents yard for a little Easter Egg "hunt'. It wasn't much of a hunt as we just laid the eggs out in the grass for them to pick up. But they had a great time nevertheless and we got some great pictures in their Easter outfits. It seems that they are always making me laugh these days and yesterday was no exception. McLean's favorite thing to do was pick up two eggs and then smash them together until they were a broken mess. He would then look up at us with a huge smile on his face as thought he had just accomplished something great. Serious little Ben walked around studying everything, and for good measure he picked up everything he saw and tasted it, just to make sure. They are so funny and so different from one another. It never ceases to amaze me.
