Mother’s Day Weekend

I hope all of you mothers had a very happy Mother’s Day!  It is always such a special day to spend with my boys, kissing and cuddling them and reflecting on how thankful I am to be their Mommy!

My little boys are so sweet and so funny!  They are so obsessed with cars, trucks, any type of construction equipment, school buses {you get the picture}.  Anytime we are in the car and they see any of those things, they nearly go into a frenzy pointing it out to you until you acknowledge what they have seen and how cool it is!  Of course they also love any type of ball and all sports activities.  We recently got them a pint-sized basketball goal and they constantly want to go outside and play “baske-wat-ball”.  Lawn care equipment is another favorite of theirs and they love to watch daddy use the lawnmower.  They will stand at their playroom windows which look into the backyard and watch him mow the lawn.

While they are certainly all boy, they are still so sweet to their Mommy.  Right after naptime is when they are the most cuddly.  They have really become attached to their little lovies.  Ben calls his puppy and McLean calls his foobie {we have no idea where this came from}  he also has another bear that he calls Cecil, I don’t know where he comes up with these things, but I think he is going to be my creative child.

Ben is our wild child recently.  He will pretty much do the opposite of what you tell him and he can be quite defiant.  My parents tell me that I was like that, so I guess this is payback.  He is never serious though and is always making all of us laugh, McLean laughs so hard at Ben all of the time and that always brings a smile to my face.

Since I am usually the one behind the camera, Gene took a turn and snapped some pictures of me and the boys this weekend.  I’m pretty sure the boys don’t really understand what is going to happen in a couple of months, but they definitely know that my belly is bigger.  We have told them that they are going to have a baby sister and they constantly talk about “baby sissy”.  They love to put their hands on my belly and feel her kick and give her kisses all of the time.  We haven’t decided on a name yet, but it may not matter.  They may call her Sissy for the rest of her life!

Easter Weekend

We had such a wonderful weekend and I hope that all of you had great weekend as well!  My parents arrived in town Friday evening and it is so wonderful to have them here for a visit.  I feel like I am on vacation with all of their help with the boys! {I am beginning a vigorous campaign for them to move out this direction}

The church we have been visiting, and plan to join, held an Easter egg hunt at a local park Saturday morning.  It was a gorgeous day!  This was the first time we have taken the boys to an organized egg hunt and it was so much fun!  They knew exactly what to do and quickly filled their baskets to the brim.  In fact, I even made them stop so there would be eggs left over for the other children.  They are such funny little guys!

At first Ben was terrified of the Easter Bunny, but he quickly recovered!

They kept the kids waiting for a while before they got to start, McLean was not too thrilled!DSC_0392

Easter Sunday we headed to church to celebrate our Risen Savior!  Afterwards we had a delicious meal, then time for Easter baskets and a mini photo shoot.  They fought over the contents of the baskets {even though it was EXACTLY the same}  So, no good pictures of that, but here are a few of them in their Easter duds :)

Playground Fun

Our new neighborhood is so wonderful! We have great restaurants and cute boutiques within walking distance of our house {more on that in another post}. One of the best things is the playground right across the street. We love this beautiful spring weather and have been going over there every afternoon after nap time. The boys love it and are becoming more adventurous everyday.

Here We Are!

Greetings from Arkansas! It's crazy that it has been over three months since my last post! I have so many things to tell you all about, but for now I just have time for a quick update to fill you in on what all we have been up to. The past few months have certainly been a whirlwind for our family, many exciting and challenging adventures to start off 2010!
Around Christmas, Gene accepted a position as the civil engineer at an architecture firm in Little Rock, Arkansas. His start date was to be the beginning of February, so we had a very short amount of time to plan a really big move. We quickly found an amazing house, lined up movers and started packing. The day before the movers were to arrive, we found out that our house fell through. So, without a place to live, all of our belongings went into storage, Gene headed to Arkansas to start his new job and the boys and I headed to Columbia to stay with my parents until Gene found us a new house. Thankfully, after a few weeks, the Lord found us a new home and everything fell into place rather quickly. We are slowly, but surely, getting settled in. I have big plans for this house and as soon as everything is as I like it, I will post pictures!

Just a couple of weeks ago we found out that Ben and McLean will have a little sister! We are so thrilled that baby girl Pierce will make her debut at the end of July! I have so much I want to do before this little sweet pea's arrival and that will have to be another post as well.
The boys are growing and changing so much! Their language skills are improving daily and I am so proud of them! They take so much joy in their surroundings and love to experience new things. While we were staying with my parents, Columbia had a pretty good sized snowstorm. {At least for that part of the country} The boys loved playing in the snow!

2009 Clemson Baseball Alumni Weekend

A couple of weekends ago, we had the chance to spend some time with Gene's former teammates and coaches at the Clemson Baseball Alumni Game. It was great to see everyone and take the boys to Doug Kingsmore Stadium for the first time!

Here are a few pictures from the game.
