Saturday Market

Every Saturday morning from May-October, Main Street hosts a fabulous Market with local vendors selling produce, delicious treats and much more!

If you visit the market, make sure to stop by and visit Geechie Seafood..he travels from Beaufort every Saturday and his fresh seafood is delicious! I recommend the crabcakes!

So we went down to the river to dip our toes in and run around a bit

Same Kind of Different As Me

Have you read this book? If you haven't, you should. It is inspiring. I received it as a gift for Easter from my Mother-in-Law and since I have read it I have told everyone I know that they should also read it. So, for the few of you out there who haven't heard me say it in person...you really should read it.

A Weekend Away

I was able to spend this past weekend with my two college roommates, Katie and Ellen. We stayed at Katie's gorgeous home in Atlanta and had a wonderful and relaxing time. They are the sweetest girls and I am so blessed to have them in my life! We spent the weekend eating, drinking the yummiest margaritas ever, going to movies, playing Wii, touring the Southern Living Idea House, getting pampered and just having a great time catching up and being together. Love you girls!

Interior Design is one of my passions, obviously, as it was my college major.....so it was great to get to tour this home and get tons of fabulous ideas. Click on the link above to see for yourself.

These were the only pictures I got of the whole weekend...what was I thinking??

I made the girls stop at almost every mirror in the house to take pictures of ourselves...

Baby Showers, Birthday Parties and Lots of Cake

A friend of mine recently recommended a local baker to make a cake for my sister's baby shower. It was gorgeous and was absolutely as delicious as it looked. The amazing part about it is that this woman hardly charges anything for these cakes. Truly, I feel guilty every time I buy one from her because there is no way she is making any money. The result of this is that now anytime that there is an event for which I can justify buying a cake...I do. And we have eaten A LOT of cake lately!

The party we had to welcome Piper was wonderful. So many great friends came to meet her and my Dad's parents even came down from Indiana to meet her for the first time.

The following weekend we had a small birthday celebration for my mom. And of course another delicious cake!

Independence Day Celebration

Despite the ridiculously hot weather, we had a fabulous 4th of July spent with family and friends. Some family friends hosted a wonderful cookout at their lake-front home. We ate, played, ate, ate and watched fireworks. It was a wonderful day!

Ben so badly wanted to figure out how to make his pinwheel spin. He is a studious little fellow.
McLean thinks everything is hilarious

Piper had a blast...she slept through the whole afternoon!

They adore their new little lawn mowers

Sparklers and fireworks!

Note

It took several posts to include a very small portion of the pictures of our trip to Portland, OR where we visited my sister, her husband and my new niece, Piper. It was an amazing trip! Scroll way down to start at the beginning!
